Head Expanders are the most common fixture for vertical motion, as they provide larger surfaces to which test specimens may be attached. By increasing the mounting area of the shaker, multiple items can be tested at the same time, decreasing total test cycle time. Most head expanders are fabricated from magnesium alloys to provide the optimum combination of lightweight, rigidity and strength.
